We took the kids to the Houston Zoo for the first time. They have been to the Audubon Zoo several times. They really enjoyed the animals and Morgan thought they all said "Moo"

Tanner's Rodeo Round UP

It so seems like yesterday that all our family was coming into New Orleans for our big wedding. We have been so blessed with wonderful family and friends. In 4 years, we have 2 dogs and 2 amazing kids. My anniversary gift to Tory this year was pictures of the kids and myself. Kelsey Call Photography did an amazing job like always.

Morgan's Modeling

Morgan is signed with a group called Ellie Bean and Models. Photographers and Boutique owners use the models to model their clothes and accessories. Morgan got her first assignment a few weeks ago from http://www.girlygirlbows.net/ and I made shirts to match the bows so I could also use the pictures. Our pageant friend Wendy took some amazing pictures of Morgan. She has gotten so big the last few weeks and she took some amazing pictures. She also just got another assignment to model shoes. Morgan LOVES shoes!

Its so hard to believe that 9 years have passed and I still remember that day like it was yesterday. I got a call from my BFF Nicole to turn on the tv. I was socked that she was calling and that she was awake before me. We both sat and watch the news, The World Trade Center buildings were on fire. Shortly after the towels fell, I would receive the news that would forever rock my family... Donnie had CANCER. He was only 2 1/2! How, why, what did he do wrong? I was mad at God and really question my faith. Looking back on it now, I understand that God had a reason, and he choice Donnie and my family for a reason. My mom started a festival/fundraiser 3 year ago in my home town of Zwolle, La. Each year it has grown and they have raised $10,000+ each year, not bad for a small town of 3,000 people. The St. Jude Fall Fest is always held the second weeekend in September and this year it fell on Sept 11. It was nice to see the town come out and support such a great cause and all the St. Jude patients/families from the area.

Stars Over The USA Pageant

Morgan competed in the Stars Over the USA pageant this past weekend. It was an all natural pageant (no pageant dresses) and it was alot of fun. She started the day out in her casual wear outfit and was all smiles for the judges.

Morgan was in the best of mood for the pageant

After casual wear was the BFF section. Morgan and her little friend Chloe dressed up in Yellow polka dot bikinis and they had beach balls and a small pool. I did not get pictures of them together but did get 1 of Morgan

Next was RWB (Red, White, & Blue). Morgan was still all smiles for the judges even though it was getting close to nap time.

The last section of the pageant was Beauty. Morgan was still all smiles even w. her 15 minute nap. After beauty, we did a quick change in the car and was off to see Courtney play in her last high school softball tournament.

St. Charles did not win their final game but it was still amazing to see the heart this team has. Courtney tore her ACL a few weeks ago and has not been on the pitchers mound since. When the coach gave her the ball during the middle of the game, I think we were all cring. Even though her team did not win, they were amazing and we were all proud of the girls!

Sunday morning I was back to the pageant w. Tanner and Morgan this time for crowing and also with plans to do a practice Cinderalla pageant. Tanner was a handful and we did not stick around to do the second pageant. Morgan was the only baby in her age group so we were hoping to pull a higher title. One by one, all our friends were getting called up. Morgan and another girl (Maci) tied for the highest title... Ultimate Grand Face of 2010. Yes she won and she won big. Since there was a tie and the judges did not want to pick, they had to split the money and their big crowns would have to be mailed to them. Way to go Morgan

Texas Bluebonnets

Texas Bluebonnets are amazing. These pictures were taken by Kelsey Call Photography and boy were the kids a handful. They were both in a playful mood and getting them to both look at the camera was a job. Morgan did not like the flowers to much so she liked the bench the best. These too are a pair of hams!

Blue Bell Factory

Last summer while my cousins were in from Baltimore, we went up to Brenham for the Blue Bell Tour. Tory had work that day and was not able to go. Friday was an off day for Tory so we finally got to go. Tanner woke up so cute and the first words was... "we go eat ice cream?" The kids really enjoyed it and it was neat to hear how the ice cream started.

Disney On Ice

Disney On Ice was a ton of fun. The Calls rode w/ us down there and that was a lot of fun! 3 toddlers in the back row cutting up. Morgan chimed in some too. We ordered our tickets presale and Tory was able to get us some amazing tickets, 8 rows up from the ice. The only problem was the bathrooms were 10 minutes away and Tanner took 3 trips up.

This was a last minute decission to do this pageant. Tory did a half marathon in the morning and then Morgan did the pageant that afternoon. This was the biggest age group we have done, 0-35 months. She was the youngest of course and she had so much fun. She really smiled a ton and clapped. Tanner went up on stage during crowning and was good during the pageant. Morgan won Most Photogentic, Best Smile, and then also Queen for her age group. Way to go Morgan, thats 2 in a row!

Fun in New Orleans for Easter

I had a small surgery done on my foot on Thursday morning before going to New Orleans for Easter. Courntey had a softball game around the corner from Tory's parents house so we went there after dropping off the dogs.

Shell Houston Open Golf Tournament

We took the kids on the Pro Am day of the Shell Houston Open. We normally get Tanner a tournament flag to get autographs on but this year they had a huge golf ball. Tanner got some amazing pictures w some of the best golfers that were there. We even got to see Emmit Smith.

Our community does a huge Easter egg hunt for all the kids and it was alot of fun this year. My mom and little brother were also in town so Tanner really enjoyed his Uncle Donnie. Tory finally let me pick out paint colors for the house and we took on teh project of repainting the house. The living room was a project but I am really excited how it turned out. I also had a photography class with Kelsey Call on how to use your camera. Oh my gosh, did I learn alot! Super excited about my picture taking skills now.

Morgan got a new pageant outfit made by Mimi. She's a little cowgirl!

Morgan has really started to crawl well and follows me around the house. Her new favorite toy is to play in the dogs water bowl and food. I had to take pictures the first time she played.

We all receided a special package from Mimi... Saints clothes for everyone to wear during the Super Bowl. My Aunt Kathy and her friend were in town and we enjoyed the game.

Mardi Gras so a ton of fun. Morgan had some really cute outfits thanks to Mimi and had her picture take by lots of strangers. Tanner enjoyed catching footballs.

These pictures were taken mid month of Tanner and Morgan playing. Its so cute how well the play together.

At the end of the month, I talked Tory into running the Mardi Gras marathon in New Orleans so I could go in and scrapbook with the girl. We had a blast and got tons done. Tory did great on his run and finish better then he has in the past. It was the perfect weekend for the race.

All Star Kids Pageant

Last minute decission to do this pageant, it was up in Kingwood and they had a western wear catagory that I really wanted to do. The director had a much bigger turn out then she expected so the room was packed. Morgan had 2 other little cuties in her group. Morgan won Most photogentic and Most beautful babe in her age group, then she was called 2nd runner up. When it was time for them to announce the overall winner of the pageant... yeah you guessed it... Morgan had the highest score for the 0-4 year old girls & boys. She was the youngest girl there and really do great.

After spending 10 days in New Orleans, it was great to get back home and unpack. Tanner and Morgan both got tons of toys for Christmas so finding new homes for everything was fun.

I took the kids to watch Tory run the Houston Marathon. It was alot of fun and Tanner really enjoyed it. Tory is also running the Mardi Gras Marathon next month in New Orleans.

Morgan participated in the Humble Rodeo Pageant on the 23rd. She does not do well evening pageants. She was tired and woke up right before it was time to go onstage. It was fun and our friend Alyssa won.

Morgan also competed in the TCP Mardi Gras Double Header pageant down in Galestson. Morgan did great and got 1st runner up in pageant and got Most Photogentic & Best Portfolio and Queen in her age group. I was really excited to pull out Photogentic and Port since she had just had some new pictures taken. Morgan's MiMi made her Mardi Gras outfit, my mom made the hairbow and I did her shoes.

New Years Eve & Day

We took the kids to the Audubon Zoo New Years eve day. Tanner loves all the animals and it was Morgan's first time to go. The weather was perfect.

We also went to my sister n laws n-laws to for New Year's Eve but both kids were ready to go around 10:30.

New Years Day was our last chance to see everyone before we left. Both sides of the family get together at Tory's parents house for a day of eating and watching football. Both kids were in great moods and I was able to get some great pictures of them with everyone.

We put in a special request the last time we went home that Tanner wanted to have a party with Santa and some of his close friends. We invited some of our friends to the front of the subdivision for a special treat and to enjoy hot chocolate and cookies. Santa stopped by and talked with Tanner and his friends and then even stopped by our house for those that could not make it. It was a nice treat since Santa does not stop at our house since we are always in New Orleans at MiMi's house

Polar Express Train Ride

We took Tanner up to do the Polar Express Train Ride in Palestine Texas. It was a long 3 hour drive north and we left a few minutes late and missed our 6:45pm train ride. Thankfully they had room on the 8:15pm train for us. Tanner had so much fun. I think his favorite part was when Santa got on the train. I look forward to hopefully going back next year.

Tory had a training race for the marathon so I took Tanner with me to Morgan's pageant. My parents meet us there to see the kids and to watch the pageant. The baby age group did not get split so Morgan competed in a 0-23 month age group, and Girlfriend rocked! I was so proud of how well she did. She was laughing and smiling at everyone and really enjoyed herself. Our friend Alyssa took home Photogenic and Queen and Morgan got Best Smile and 1st runner up. Not bad considering she was the youngest and most were around 14 months old or more. It was a lot of fun and we got to see some of our friends that we have not seen in a few months.

Eagle Springs Winter Fest

Our community Winter Fest was a ton of fun. This was the first time Tory and I got to take the kids. Normally my parents are in town to watch the kids so we can attend Tory's work Christmas party. This year it was early enough that we could take them before going to the party. I was really surprised when Tanner went up to Santa and asked for "more chu chu trains and lighten McQueen". There were lots of little games for the kids and Tanner really enjoyed them all. It was still very cold so we did not stay very long but it was a nice treat.

Snowing in Houston

Today was alot of fun as we waited for the snow to come. Tanner took an early nap and we were so ready for him to wake up to go play in the snow. The first time Tanner went out he did not enjoy the snow, his hands were cold so we borrowed some mittens from the neighbor and I added an extra layer, he was ready to throw some snowballs. I hope it does not melt overnight. It would be nice to get some more family pictures. It is not everyday that we get to enjoy snow in Texas.

Tanner had his birthday party at QLS with Kids N Action. It was the first party we had been to that they hosted and it was so much fun. All the kids enjoyed the games and it was a full 90 minutes of playing. April made Tanner's cake again and made a 3D train that was amazing. We are so lucky to have great friends. Can't wait for next year's party.

Disney on Ice

We took the kids to see Disney on Ice. I was surprised at how much Morgan enjoyed it. Tanner did not take a good nap that day so he feel asleep before the last act came on which was The Lion King. I can not wait to see his face when we go to Disney World in June.

Pumpkin Patch

We took Tanner up to Oil Ranch Pumpkin Patch to go ride the train and to pick out a pumpkin. I thought it would be less crowded during the week so we went on Tory's Friday off. Needless to say, I picked the one day that Houston ISD took a trip there and had 50+ buses of little kids. Tanner loved the train ride, petting the Donkeys, and he even rode a real size horse. I think he enjoyed the soccer fields the most. It was nice to go and the weather was perfect.

Halloween 2009

Halloween was so much fun this year. All our neighbors gather at The L's house to have dinner before taking the kids trick or treating. There were a ton of cute outfits. Tanner was a golfer and Morgan was a scarecrow and Tory and I were Tanner's caddies. Tanner had so much fun with his BFFs Evan and Sam. It was cute to watch the 3 of them go up to the houses and knock. Next year Morgan will get to join in on the auction. She slept for most of our walk.

It is hard to believe that 3 years ago I married my best friend. It really seems like yesterday that Tory and I started dating and quickly realized we had so much in common. We both loved to travel and had the chance to take some amazing road trips. I can not thank God enough for leading us into each other's lives. Look at us now 3 years after saying "I Do". I still laugh at his corky sayings and he still tells me when I am having a blonde moment. We are so blessed to have 2 wonderful children's and 2 great dogs and wonderful family and friends.

Weekend w/ Grandma and Uncle Donnie

My mom and little brother came in to visit. She has not been down since July but has seen the kids over the last couple months from us going up there. They arrived on Saturday morning in time to get in the car and off we went to Zube Park in Hockley. Its just a few minutes north of the Cypress outlet malls. Tanner enjoyed riding the little model trains and we can't wait to go back next month.

That afternoon was our community fall festival. Tanner got dressed up in his golfer outfit and Morgan wore here halloween dress. Tanner was excited to ride another train.

I can not believe that she is already 3 months old. Time is flying by so fast. She now rolls over and will laugh when you talk to her or laugh at her. It is so cute when she starts cutting up. She also loves to sing and her songs end up sounding like cries but they start out cute. Loves her fingers and I think she would eat her toes if she could reach them. Almost sleeps through the night, still waking up for that 4:30am feeding but I can handle 1 feeding during the night. Now to get her on Tanner's nap schedule. Best day for golf

I deceided to be brave and take both kids out to the golf tournament. The Champion Tour is playing up in The Woodlands and figured it would tire out Tanner and he would take a great nap. I packed the diaper bag, my 2 cameras, double stroller and off we went. It started to rain on our way there and I had zero umbrellas in my car. By the time we got to the course it had stopped raining however it was so hot and humid. The plan was to say for an hour or so. Not knowing many of the players I went to the 18th green to watch those that were coming off the course. One of the local newspapers photographer told me that if I hung around I would get to see Clemens and Bagwell. I checked the pairing sheets and yes he was correct, Roger Clemens and Jeff Bagwell were on their way to the 18 green. Quick call to Tory since I was super excited. I tried to explain to Tanner who they were and that Jeff Bagwell was Daddy's favorite player and he also wore the #5 while playing for the Astros. I did not think it was polite to ask them to sign a golf flag so we had them sign Tanner's golf hat. It was a great day to watch a few people play golf and get to see 2 great Astros players.

Weekend in New Orleans

We have not been back home since the end of July and both kids have changed so much since then. Tory had to work his Friday off so we were short one day of our trip but the other 2 days were so exciting. Every year Tory, his dad, Uncle Blaine, and myself play in a golf tournament that FedEx sponsors for a local special needs school, St. Michaels. This year we took Tanner with us. The whole month leading up to the trip when we would talk about going to New Orleans, Tanner's response was "GOLF!" He does not forget things now. Tanner had the time of his life. It was like a Disney experience for him and I am glad that his grandpaw and Uncle Blaine were there to enjoy it with us.

Sunday we baptized Morgan. It was nice to have almost the whole family there. My parents were not there but we will get to see them soon. I loved Morgan's baptisimal gown (thanks MiMi) and her matching white dress. I think we will have to wear it soon at a pageant. After the baptism, everyone followed up back to Tory's parents house for an afternoon full of food and laughter. It was sad to leave but we will be back next month for Thanksgiving and Tanner's birthday party.

So yes every week is crazy and busy at our house. Tory worked alot of over-time this week so I spent all my days with both kids and the evenings were the worst with Tanner. There is never a dull moment with Tanner. Everyday he comes up with the cutest and craziest things. His vocabulary has grown so much and its cute that you can now have a conversation with him.

Saturday was Eagle Springs appreciation day at the Aquarium. We were talking to Tanner during the week about being good and that we would go see the fish. His response... "and ride the Chu Chu Train!". The first thing we did was ride the train since there was no line.

Today we took Morgan to get her ears pierced. I knew what to expect but Tory had no clue. She only cried for a second and then was totally fine.

We also picked up a few items for Tanner's birthday. Yes its still months away but we wanted to let him play with one of the train sets. We had it all ready to go when he woke up from his nap and he played with it till it was time for bed.

Very Busy Month

September has been a crazy month. Morgan was in her first beauty pageant. She was in the St. Jude Fall Fest pageant and placed 4th in her age group. She was by far the youngest so I think that might have hurt her scores. It was alot of fun and for a great cause. Congrats to all the girls that participated!

The following weekend we made the trip back to my parents for the 3rd annual St. Jude Fall Fest. Our friends Trina and Tony also joined us. The whole way there it was raining on us but it was not raining there. The sky never droped bottom but it rained/misted the whole day. The crowd was not what we were hoping for but I think they still raised over $7,000 for St. Jude's Hospital. Not bad for a small town.

I got to meet one of the most remarkable St. Jude families yet and to hear their story about their son Bryce was amazing. There was not a dry eye in the place and thankful Tory was able to read Donnie's for me because I was still in tears. Mr. Norroway fell in love with Morgan and held her probably more then my parents got to. He might have tried to talk her back with them if I was not watching.

Sunday Tory had a golf tournament so the kids and I spent the day just chilling at the house. Tanner is getting better at the potty and made did #1 and #2 successfully. I got Morgan all dressed up in a cute dress and her and Tanner took pictures. I also went and picked up a exersaucer for her and Tanner really enjoyed playing with it. She is not quite ready for it but it will not be long.

Brad Paisley Concert

For my birthday Tory got us tickets to go see Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley. We have both been counting down the days and I can not believe it is finally here.

Today is also my little brother's anniversary date of his cancer. Hard to believe that the same day our country was turned upside down and torn apart, my family received the words that no parent should ever hear "the tumor is cancer!" Thanks to the wonderful staff at St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis my brother has been in remission for 7 years now.

The concert was alot of fun but neither Tory nor I thought about how loud it would be for Morgan and during the first song she let us know. We spent most of the night holding her ears and finally during the last couple songs she woke up and enjoyed it. At one time during the concert we had both kids asleep and our friendly neighbors next to us took some pictures for us.

I really did not have much to write about since Thursday's post so I wanted to go back and show everyone pictures of Tanner from this time last year. We have a calendar that has pictures from the year before and I was looking at all the fun memories we have with Tanner last year. He was 9 months old last September and had alot first go on. He had his first trip to the golf course. He had just started walking and we took him with us to play golf. He also fell out of the cart trying to follow Tory onto the green. The next morning we took him to the ER where he did have a concussion. The following weekend we evacuated to New Orleans because Ike was heading our way. We spent a few extra days in New Orleans with our family and it was nice to have air condition. He also enjoyed his first Orea cookie. Hope ya'll all enjoy looking back to how small but big Tanner was. Time goes by so fast.

In the car to Downtown to go to Texas Children's Hospital. By this time, he had already thrown up several times and could not keep anything down. The med center is so big and it took us a few minutes to find out where to go but once we got signed in they were amazing. Tanner had a cat scan done and he layed very still which was amazing. I cried of course but everything was ok.

Tanner starts Mother's Day out tomorrow and he needed a nap mat for school. Here are some cute pictures of Morgan with her big purple bow and Tanner playing around on his new mat.

Morgan has gotten so big so fast. Last Thursday was Tanner's last day at Kids R Kids. It was so sad to drop him off for the last time. Tory normally picks him up for me but I really wanted to bring some thank you cards to his teachers and his friends. I got Morgan dressed after her nap in an outfit that Tanner wore so much, we had 2 of them.

Morgan's Nanny got her this cute outfit and I have been waiting for it to fit her. I love the polka dots and black and pink.

On Sunday Morgan and I went to my friends baby shower. Morgan enjoyed herself because everyone wanted to hold her. I got to take some pictures for Trina with my new camera. I also made Rocko a cute sign for his room.

Tanner went to stay at Grandma's house (my mom's) on Monday. This was the first time for him to stay the night away from us. When we got up on Monday I told Tanner to pack a few toys that we wanted to bring. He packed: yellow baseball bat, wood baseball bat, baseball helmet, baseball glove, 3 balls, tooth brush and tooth paste, Moe the monkey, his fluffy blanket. He packs like I do, bring it all! Here are some pictures of Tanner with his helmet on in the car.

Tuesday Morgan had her 2 month check up and yes I took my camera with me. She got a few shots and was not happy at all. She weighed 12 lbs and 23 inches long. She has so many fat rolls on her legs but it's really cute.

After 3 days of the house being very quiet, I was ready to go and pick up Tanner. We had a hard ride home from Lufkin, they kept taking turns having melt downs. Tanner was so excited to play with his toys, he had them all out within 3 minutes. Bye bye clean house!

It is crazy to think back on how one decision we made 4 years ago has affected our lives almost everyday. I have come to believe that God knows the big picture for each of us and we have to trust him and it will all unfold like he has planned.

On Saturday August 27, 2005 I was planning to go wedding dress shopping with some of my bridesmaids. The plan was to meet up around noon and go to New Orleans to a couple dress shops. That morning one of the bridesmaids called and canceled on me. I went to work and a few hours later Tory called to let me know that he was on his way up to Baton Rouge and had all of our stuff in his car and we were evacuating New Orleans, Katrina was coming her way. Once he got to Baton Rouge we tried to find a hotel room North and West and had no luck. His Uncle Scott did have a hotel room in Houston so we planned to leave on Sunday morning and take the back roads to get to Houston. Tory's sister and her family were going to Shreveport to her brother-n-laws, and the other uncles were going across the lake to wait and see what the storm did. Tory and I left Baton Rouge on Sunday morning and took all the back roads and made it to Houston in about 7 hours. Lets just say the hotel was not a Hilton Brand and it was terrible but better then nothing. 4 adults and 2 kids in a small hotel room gets very tight, and one of the kids does NOT like Tory. On Monday Tory and I went to play golf at this golf course we had been wanting to play at, Tour 18, just north of Houston. We loved the course and loved the area. When we returned to the hotel, we then learned what was happening in New Orleans and really could not believe the damage. Tory's parents house did have some damage and his sister lost her big oak tree. (it feel on their car that they had just made the last car payment).

In March 2006, Tory received a call from a recruiter about moving to Houston. The economy had taken a hard hit after Katrina and we had started looking for a house and had not come up with anything. I thought that we were crazy not to even explore the possiblity. Not knowing anyone in Houston, I got on the wedding board, the knot, and asked where to live and work and we keep coming back to the area were Tour 18 was located. We had 3 days to decided on a job and find a house. The last house we walked through was the house we are in today. When we walked through where the front door would be, we both just knew that this was our house.
It was very hard for us to move away from our family. Most of Tory's family all live within a 5-10 mile radius with the exception of one uncle that lives across the lake. The move did make us closer to my parents and we have been thankful for being able to call them when we need a babysister. We do wish that we were closer and the 5hour trip is alot longer now with 2 kids and 2 dogs (one still gets car sick).I am so thankful now how things have turned out for us. We have made some amazing friends here in Houston and I can not thank them enough for all that they have done for us. They are amazing rolemodels for us as parents, and husbands & wives.

Its been a while since I took any pictures of Tanner in the tub. Well as you can see, there is not much room for any more toys. Tanner has never taken a bath in the upstairs bathroom. I think he will be in shock when he no longer takes a bath/swims in the big bathtub. I was lazy tonight and gave Morgan a quick bath with Tanner while Tory got these great pictures of the two kids.

Happy Birthday Mom/Grandma

Today is my mom's 46th birthday and what better gift then to drive to Lufkin and go to lunch. This was the first trip that I have taken with both kids and no help. Our morning started with Tanner brushing his teeth 3 times so I could get everyone ready. If it keeps him occupied and does not make a big mess or hurt someone, I am all for it.

Before we could leave, I had to take Tory his skycaddie (golfer's gps) and that was 30 minutes in the opposite direction. I also had to stop back by the house to pick up my camera, yes I do not go anywhere without it. We were finally on the road. Morgan slept almost the whole trip and Tanner took a good nap. All in all, they were both pretty good. After lunch we went to the mall to walk around and for Tanner to burn off some energy. Tanner loves playing in the play areas.

Tanner was in his seat and playing with one of Morgan's flower headbands and was just having a fit with it. At a red light, I took it from him before he destoyed it and he had a total melt down. Since we were stoped I took this cute picture.

Tanner is really going through a totally cute stage. He is growing up so much the last couple weeks. Next month he will start a Mother's Day Out program and I am very sad to take him out of the daycare that has watched him since he was 6 weeks old. His new thing is to hold Morgan, call Morgan "sissy" or "baby" and is starting to get his independence.

Yesterday was a fun day for the 3 of us. Tanner had a few timeouts in his bedroom after he threw his sippy cup at Morgan's head. This happen twice. I think I need to find a helmet for Morgan. It rained most of the day so we took a walk to get the mail. Afterwards Tanner had fun playing in the stroller and Morgan's carseat. He also took a sharpie marker and colored the screen of my new Blackberry. Thankfully the plastic was still on it. He is also learning how to open doors. He has not yet master how to open any but sure loves to try.

And then today! Tanner and I slept in till 8:30 and at 10 had to wake Morgan up. This child loves to sleep. Tanner talked to Grandma and Grandpa on the phone and I was trying to get him to make his monkey "Moe" talk. He put the phone up to Moe's ear. It was too cute but I was not able to get a picture of that. This is also the second time I have seen him drink out of the dogs water bowl. I just wonder what the afternoon will bring. I hope the twins can come over and play today!

Chunky Monkey

Morgan has a new name... Chunky Monkey! Lets just say this girl loves to eat. I think she dreams about eating in her sleep. I had a doctors appointment and they weighed Morgan and she is up to 11 lbs. 2 oz and is only 6 1/2 weeks old. She might not run true to size.

Not much went on this week after I took the kids to see the Disney Train. Tory was off again this Friday and it was nice to spend a 3 day weekend together. Tanner was picked to be Student of the Week at Day Care and got to bring home George for the week. I got some cute pictures of him playing with his new friend. Our neighbor's son had a birthday party and it was cute to see Tanner play with the big kids.

Tanner also got a new toy box. At first I thought it would go outside to hold his outside toys but I think I really like in inside. Tanner of course had to check it out and give his approval.

The Christmas Carol Train Tour

Tanner has fallen in love with Trains. He makes the cutest train noise so I took him and Morgan to see the Disney "The Christmas Carol" Train Tour that was in Houston today. I got up and had the kids in the car and on our way by 8:30 which is great for us. Parking was a little crazy but we were in line by 9:30. I was then told that I could not bring the stroller so I had to park it and carry Morgan. No problem, little did I know that we would be standing for almost an hour and a half. I did have to get out of line and go back to the stroller to get Morgan a bottle and Tanner his juice cup. Thankful I had a very friendly family behind us that held our spot and also offered to hold Morgan so I could tend to Tanner during a melt down. He loved the train and I am excited to see the new movie come out in November.

Tanner will start a Mother's Day Out program next month and will only being attending Tuesday and Thursdays so I have been trying to adjust to this. This week was a good week for the kids and it helps that Tory is off most Fridays now. Tanner got his first Under Armour shirt. He was so excited. He fits in a boys small tight fit shirt. It is very long on him so it looks like a dress when he does not have shorts on with it.

Morgan had her 1 month check up and Doctor thinks she is looking good. She weighed in a 9lbs. 15 oz. and 21 inches long. My new nick name for her "chunky monkey" because all she does is eat and she is starting to get some chunky cheeks and legs.

Tanner has also become a very good swimmer for his age. He really wants to be able to go down the big slide out our community pool so I think that is what keeps him trying. Everytime we go Morgan sleeps the whole time.

Tanner also loves to play with Morgan's baby toys. This week he got in her swing and I thought the legs were going to break. He likes sitting in the bouncing seat and I got some great pictures of Tanner showing Morgan how things work on the seat.

I have also been playing dress up with Morgan. On Thursday we met up with a friend and went out to the outlet mall. Tanner was a daycare so it was a girl's only day. Morgan was so cute in her jean skirt and hairbow.

A Very Busy July (part 1)

Well Tory got to post about Morgan so now its my turn. I think I must be so lucky when it comes to having babies. My labor was very easy and much shorter then Tanner's. I had seen my midwife on Monday and at 12:36am my water broke. I really did not think that I had to rush to get there so I took a bath, made sure we had everything in the suitcase, Tory took a shower, and then we woke up my mom to tell her that we were going to go in. 90 minutes after my water broke we were on our way to The Woodlands. The last 10 minutes were uncomfortable in the car but I still thought I had a few hours to go. We were greated by Katherine and my first thing I had to do was Pee. Katherine checked me and said "Your a 9!" Really already! My mom was in the front trying to get Tanner and Donnie settled with a movie and Katherine went and got her to come help. The help was to catch the baby. The midwife's staff was not there yet and I was ready to push. 12 minutes after we walked in, Morgan was born. My whole experience at Nativiti was amazing but I think after delivering Tanner at a hospital Tory and I was so greatful to have a birth that was totally what we wanted. I was also excited that my mom got to experence what she did and I have some great pictures thanks to Jen who showed up 15 minutes after we did. We were all home by 7 am and Morgan and I just slept all day. It was nice to relax in my bed and much easier with Tanner.

Now the crazy part of the month. My mom and little brother left on Thursday and Tory's family arrived on Friday for the weekend. Tory had also volunteered to be in the dunking booth at our neighboorhood 4th of July celebration so we took the kids out to see him and to enjoy some ice cream. Morgan loves the heat so she slept most of the time. We got to enjoy Tory's family for the 4th and his dad's BBQ and then we had ColdStone Ice cream. Our neighbors had a block party so we walked up the street to show off Morgan and Kelsey B. was so excited to hold her. Tory's family left on Sunday and we took Tanner to the pool where Morgan again slept the whole time. We also saw a girl that is in Tanner's class at school so he spent most of his time playing with her.

Monday and Tuesday (July 6 & 7th) were pretty quiet and I spent most of my time getting ready for my cousins (Liz and Anthony) to arrive on Wednesday July 8th from Baltimore. Wednesday was also our baby shower at Tory's work so Tanner and I along with Morgan went to The Woodlands and then drove down to Hobby to pick up Liz and Ant. The next 2 weeks went by so fast.

I took them, Liz and Ant, to see the Battleship and yeah next time I will not plan to do that in July. It was so hot and totally did not think about the stairs and carring Morgan in her carseat was not smart. Luckly Tanner had gone to school because I would have totally had my hands full.

The next day we went to the Astros game. We did not have tickets so we had to buy them there and we were running late. We took Tanner to the kids area to play and Junction Jack was there. Tanner took his picture with him and Junction gave Morgan a little Astros baseball that I have put away for later. We really enjoyed the game and the fireworks.

She is finally here

After going to sleep last night, Michell woke me up at 12:36 to let me know that her water broke. Michell took a couple showers and then finally called the midwife, who told us to come on in. We finally got everyone up and out the house by 1:40. Michell sent out a few text messages and was shocked to see a few people respond. Kelsey (our neighbor and photographer) was out of town, so Jen Clark volunteered to fill in for her while she was gone. Fortunately, Jen was one who was up and got the text at 1:40 am. She left shortly after to come take pictures for us. We arrived at the birth center at approximately 2:15. We had enough time for the midwife to check Michell and call her staff, "she is already a 9, get here fast." Well no one was fast enough. Morgan arrived at 2:25 before Jen or the staff could arrive. As we expected, Morgan came very quickly. We were told the 2nd labor was twice as fast, and that was right on. Tanner's labor was 4 hours and Morgan took exactly 1 hour and 50 min from the time Michell's water broke, until she arrived. After Michell was checked out and got to take a bath with Morgan, we were on our way home at 6:00 am. We got home at about 6:45 and I fell asleep trying to put Tanner back down. Here are some pictures of our new family of four. And for all those that kept calling and thinking we forgot to let you know Morgan was here, here she is finally.

We did a quick photo session with Kelsey before they left for Florida. I was very nervious that I would go into labor without having done some pictures to scrapbook. I love the picture of Morgan's name on my tummy and Tanner giving his sister a big hug. We have been working on that pose for a while now. That is one of Tanner's favorite things to do with my belly. Thanks Kelsey for another wonderful set of photos.

False Alarm :(

Last night I started having very consistant contractions that started out at 7 minutes appart and were 5 minutes apart lasting for 1 minute. I told Tory and he got out our workbook from birth classes to see what it said about labor. Yes I know this is my second and I should know if I am in labor but with Tanner I never had hard contractions and they were not regular. I was also hooked up to the monitors so I knew when I was having a contraction but was not in pain. Around midnight we packed our bags and deceided to get some sleep just in case we had a big day ahead of us. When we got up this morning I was still having regular contractions so I called my midwife who had us come in to check what was going on. Yes I am having regular contractions but they are only in the top part of my uteris and not in the lower part so they are not having any effect on my cervis. She recommended me taking some calcium & magnesium and that would help with the contractions. I was so bummed out but in a way glad. My mom will be back on Monday and Kelsey will be back tomorrow so I really did not want to go into labor while they were gone. Morgan will come when she is ready, just as long as its sooner then later. I am ready to meet this little girl that has hiccups 24/7.

Busy Week

This past week has been filled with so much fun and stress that I hope things can settle down a little for me to have Morgan. I was so excited when I went for my 36 week check up to find out that I was already dilated that Tory and I both started to stress and panic at the same time. With Tanner we had everything ready months before and with Morgan, her nursery is still a mess and the baby bed was still in Tanner's room (even though Tanner has been sleeping in his big boy bed, every time we thought to take it down to move it back, he was asleep in the room).

On Friday we took a quick trip over to Alexandria, Louisiana (3.5 hours) to see my cousin graduate from LSECS. We had not told anyone that we were coming because I did not want to let Mikey down if something happen and I could not make it. Lets just say he had the biggest simile in the room when we walked in 10 minutes after it had started. Tory and I were both so glad that we made the trip and was able to enjoy his special day with him. Tanner had fun running around and even got to take home a balloon which he took a nap with.

Saturday we decided to shampoo the carpets before we have a house full of guest with Morgan and during the summer. Tory bought some really cool sliders to put under the furniture and it made it so easy to move things around. Sunday was our crazy day. I think it all started when Tory thought the lawn mower had blown up. He called his dad and his dad asked when the last time we had added oil to the mower. Oil, it needs oil? We have had this thing for almost 3 years now and never added oil! Then we noticed that Tanner had a huge bite on his foot and it was swelling pretty bad and quick. I marked it with a pen and wrote down the time and off to the urgent care we went. The doctor told us, yes its a bug bite and sent us home! OK there goes $30. It is now 9pm and I have a flat tire that needs to be changed. Tory and our neighbor change my tire and put on my spare tire that we kept from my old Camry since it was a full size tire. I go to move the car to the garage and my car will not move. I can't go forward or backwards, come on people. The parking brake was not on but it was acting like it was. Luckily we were at home to try the spare tire that came with the car because that worked. Yeah the old Camry had smaller tires then my new one so I am so thankful that this did not happen while we were driving back from New Orleans. Tory and I finally got to eat dinner around 10pm.

Monday was just as crazy. My mom and little brother drove down and got to Humble around 11am. I had them pick me up from Sears were I had dropped off my car to get 4 new tires ($600) yeah I think I should have kept my white Camry that had smaller tires and those only cost $400. I managed to do a weeks worth of errands in one day. We went to The Woodlands and stopped at Babies R Us for some last minute items. I had a few other places to go before my doctor's appointment and then we enjoyed lunch at Cane's (I miss Baton Rouge when I am pregnant). I showed my mom where to go for when I go into labor with Morgan and she got to meet our midwife Melody. My mom and Donnie got to go in and hear Morgan's heartbeat which Donnie thought was so cool. Then Melody let him listen to his. I did make some progress this week. I was a 2.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced. She did not think this week so that was nice since Kelsey is out of town and I really want here to be able to take pictures during the birth.

Tuesday was Tanner's surgery to get his ear tubes replaced and his adnoids removed. We had to be there at 7am and I totally do not understand why because we waiting almost an hour before they took us back. During his last surgery, they gave him some "loopy" medicine that only made him hyper but this time it worked. He was drunk going into surgery. Surgery was about 30 minutes and he slept most of the day.

We finally have the nursery finished. There are a few things that I want to add but for now its done. I was so excited with our project to turn a Lion King nursery into a girly nursery. Thanks to some hot pink vinyl and some glitter, I think it looks very girly. Also her closet is full!

Around the house and baby update

Tanner had his 18 month wellness check up and toped the scale at 25 pounds. It was funny because Tanner does not like going to the doctor and this trip he cried when I took off his clothes and then he tried to jump off the scale. He is also 32 inches long and is staying right at the 40-45% in growth. He also had an ENT appointment and his left ear is not getting better so we deceided to go ahead and change out that tube and check the tube in the right ear and have his adnoids removed while he is already under. This all takes place next Tuesday June 9th. Tory is taking off to help but the doctor says there is no pain in either procedure.

I had my 36 week check up today and was very excited to find out that I have dilated to a 2cm. I know this does not mean anything but at 41 weeks with Tanner I was a 1.5cm so maybe she will come a little early. Tory and I are both starting to stress I think because we are so not ready. I know with Tanner I had the nursery all ready by 30 weeks and here we are within 4 weeks of my due date and the crib is still in Tanner's room. Tanner moved out of the nursery and into the Astros room and it is so cute to see him wave from upstairs as he goes to his big boy bed. We also started leaving his door opened a few inches when Tory leaves in the morning and it is very nice not to have to walk upstairs to get him. The only problem is that he does not always wake me up when he gets up and I find him playing in the living room or pulling out my files in the office.

We are also excited to have summer guests again this year. My cousins from Baltimore will arrive July 8th-July 22nd and I have been planning things for us to do around Houston and San Antonio. I will keep everyone updated on Baby Morgan's progress and hopefully labor goes as well as Tanner's did.

Fun Weekend at Sea World

We have been tring to do some extra activities with Tanner before Morgan arrives so we deceided to take the trip to San Antonio and go to Sea World. Tanner has a love for animals and fish so what better place then Sea World. We started out by waking up and managed to leave by 6:30am. Yes very early for me but I was excited so it was easy to get up. Tanner slept most of the way there and was ready to go when the park opened. Tanner is not a kid that likes to sit in a stroller so he figured out a way to sit and make room for Morgan.

Our next stop was at the Dolphins Cove. This was Tanner's first time to see a dolphin and he loved them. We are planning to go again in July when my cousins are down from Baltimore and will let Tanner feed the Dolphins then.

We spent the next couple hours watching shows. It was hard for Tanner to sit through the Cannery Row Caper and Believe but during Viva he loved the dolphins and the divers. He was not a fan of wearing the 4D glasses during Pirates 4-D but I did get a few good pictures.

Tanner had a fun day full for fun and was asleep before we got out of the parking lot. He was so cute. Our next stop was a quick trip to the outlet malls in San Marcus. While I was shopping Tory and Tanner went to a tool store and Tanner wanted to bring home the lawn mower.
